Manheimer's Cataloging and Classification: Revised and Expanded (Books in Library and Information Science Series) ReviewI had to use this book for a graduate LIS degree and it was okay. There are lots of examples but few explanations so you have to discern for yourself what the author is trying to convey. If you are not familar with cataloging this is not helpful since it does not explain very well. I am looking for a book that shows examples and explains the AACR2 rules in English for people who are not familar with the library terms. This book would have been excellent if there was more detailed explanations.Manheimer's Cataloging and Classification: Revised and Expanded (Books in Library and Information Science Series) OverviewThis work has been revised and updated to include the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (2nd ed), the Dewey Decimal System Classification (21st ed) and the Library of Congress Classification Schedules. The text details the essential elements of the International Standard Bibliographic Description; introduces the associated OCLC/MARC specifications; and more. The CD-ROM gives more than 500 PowerPoint slides and graphics identical to the text, in addition to scans of the title page, and title page verso and other illustrations that support examples from Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (2nd ed).
